Family Start
Refer a Whānau to Family Start
Family Start is a free, intensive home visiting service that supports whānau with young children to give tamariki the best possible start in life. We partner with families to build on their strengths, support positive parenting, promote child health and development, and help create safe, loving, and stable home environments.
Support is tailored to the needs of each whānau and may include help with parenting, understanding child development, establishing routines, improving wellbeing, connecting with health and social services, and working towards goals that matter to the family. Our approach is caring, practical, strengths-based, and non-judgemental.
Referrals are welcome from professionals, community agencies, and whānau themselves. If you know a family who may benefit from additional support, please get in touch with our team to discuss a referral.
Criteria: Pregnant mothers, or has child aged 0-3
